DFYFK ("the app", "we") is made by Logan Carrillo, an independent developer. The app reminds you to grab your belongings when you park. It has no account, no login and no server of its own. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version. Your location, motion, recordings and settings stay on your iPhone (or in your own iCloud if you turn on backup). We never receive them. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google's ad service needs to show a banner ad, and that stops completely if you buy Remove Ads. We don't sell your information or use it to track you.
Location and motion
The app uses your location, including in the background, and Motion & Fitness activity only to notice when a drive ends and you start walking. This is processed entirely on your iPhone. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and it is not stored beyond what the app briefly needs in memory to detect a park. You can turn either permission off at any time in iOS Settings → DFYFK.
Microphone and recordings
The microphone is used only while you record your own reminder line. Recordings stay on your iPhone. Please only record your own voice, or people who have agreed to be recorded.
Settings, purchases and backup
Your selected lines, pause settings and redeemed pack vouchers are stored on your iPhone. If you turn on "Back up to iCloud", recordings and settings are stored in your own private iCloud account through Apple. We cannot access your iCloud data.
Purchases (Remove Ads and voice packs) are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, Apple ID or payment details; Apple only tells the app which items you own.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications created on your iPhone. No push notification service is used for reminders.
Advertising
If you have not bought Remove Ads, the Home and Yells screens show a small banner ad from Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads only, limit ads to content suitable for all ages, and do not ask to track you across other companies' apps and websites (the app never shows Apple's tracking prompt and has no access to your advertising identifier).
To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect limited information such as your approximate location derived from your IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions. Google's use of this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and in its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and in US states with privacy laws that require it, the app shows Google's consent and privacy message. You can change your choice any time in the app under Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices. Buying Remove Ads turns the ad SDK off completely, so no ad data is collected after that.
Analytics
The app has no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs beyond what Google AdMob uses to serve ads as described above.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted ads based on your activity across other apps and websites).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for using them. Because we don't collect or store personal information on any server, there is nothing for us to look up or delete: deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone, and you can delete the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage. For data collected by Google to serve ads, use the ad privacy choices in the app or contact Google. You're also welcome to contact us with any request or question.
Data retention and security
On-device data stays until you delete it or the app. Location and motion readings are discarded as soon as they've been used to detect a park. The app relies on iOS and iCloud security; we never hold copies of your data.
Children
The app is rated 4+ but is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are limited to content suitable for all ages. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we'll help.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
